a lick of white paint

For a couple of months now i've been seeking out the right 'hall stand'. Something not too ornate and not to streamlined and finally i found this...

for $20 on ebay. Thrilled to say the least, and with a high gloss tin of paint from bunnings for $9.95, this bargain  now looks like this ...
and due to my love of a blank canvas, it's also looked like this ...

and also this ...

all in one day. Ok, slightly obsessive but it's the rain and this white thing is so addictive!!!!
After putting the first coat on this bad boy earlier in the week i stalked the interior of my house for something else to paint and plucked these from the back of my couch
which have been improved to this

Paint is such an incredible thing and I get such a kick when admiring the transformation it provides. Tins of black, grey, yellow, red, turqoise, green ... sit patiently and wait. I've 'been told' that if i don't do something with the mountain of furniture that saturates 'his shed' and underneath our house that it's going to the tip. So, sit tight for more before and afters, because i plan to keep evidence of EVERYTHING!

  1. You and I are so alike, so much furniture lurking about waiting to be painted. I love what you've done with this table and bookends. Paint is such a miracle worker. :)x

  3. Colors are often referred to as warm and cool. Orange, red, and pink are considered warm colors, while blues, greens, and violet are thought to be cool. Knowing the theory behind color can help you select the right tone for the feel you're trying to achieve.
